Overnight Trip to Moses Mountain and St. Catherine Monastery from Sharm el Sheikh

Around 10.30 pm Our Egypt Tailor Made tour guide will be waiting you at the lobby of your hotel. Then, he will escort you by an air conditioned vehicle to drive towards St. Catherine’s City “about 3 hours driving” (220km).

:"Visiting the Monastery":

Upon arrival you will start climbing Moses Mountain where Moses received the 10 commandments from god .there are small religious chapels above the summit of the mountain. Enjoy the scenery from the summit of the mountain, take some photos. Then, you will come down to the base around “7.00am” to visit the Monastery of Saint Catherine which is considered one of the most famous monasteries in the world and also it's one of the oldest monasteries of Christianity. It’s located in heart of Sinai Peninsula at a height of 1570 meters in the place where according to the tradition Moses saw the bush on fire which didn’t burn up .The Monastery is Orthodox and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The monastery dates back to the age of the emperor Justinian 6th century. it was the same time of building enclosure wall surrounding the monastery right now but The monastery was named saint Catherine at the beginning of the 11th century in honor of saint Catherine, one of the earliest Alexandria Christians martyrs . It contains several monuments like the burning bush seen by Moses, and the remarkable Icons Gallery. After finishing the tour, you will get back to the air conditioned vehicle to proceed your way towards Dahab which is situated on the southeast coast of Sinai Peninsula. Dahab is considered to be one of the Sinai's most treasured diving destinations. You will take a tour around this beautiful town, shopping some souvenirs, having lunch at one of the local restaurants there. After that you will start your way back towards Sharm el Sheikh "around 80 km" to get back to your hotel to stay overnight.
